The Good

The Bad
We found one complaint from a lady who thought that her paying the $7 shipping charge to send in the damage pot for replacement was outrageous. I guess people think everything should be covered by the company. She used the pot for 6 months and says it just “broke”. Hard to believe if you ask me, there’s always more to the story and I would classify this complaint as not true. Another person complained that the pans were burning on the sides. The company sent her a reply stating that you cannot just heat and heat and heat the pans as like any material if you overheat it, they will not function as you desire. Apparently that too was not good enough for this person and warranted them putting up a complaint. I would again chalk this one up to user abuse and not a defect of the pans.
That’s the thing about reviews if someone has even the slightest issue, yet they clearly abused the product, they’ll write a review to make it look like they did nothing wrong. Typical but ashame that such and awesome product with over 280 positive reviews got this treatment.

Let me preface this review with the fact that I am Italian and raised 5 children on daily home-cooked meals. The kitchen is the center of my home. So when my daughter got her own apartment out west and asked for a set of pots for Christmas, I wanted to make sure I got her a quality set that would last her for years and years. I knew what I wanted for her, but didn’t know which brand to purchase. Non-stick was out (I have never liked it). The pots also had to be both dishwasher/oven safe, and I wanted the pot handles to be riveted into the pot. Off I went to the mall with my “specifications” in hand to look at the different brands and sets available. Boy was I amazed at how many there were! I took my time and examined each set. Not only did I look at the sets, but I also handled the sets. This is VERY important. Many of the quality sets were so heavy that I needed two hands to lift the larger pieces, and although I could lift the smaller saucepans, I had difficulty tilting them to the side to pour. Others had handles that were very uncomfortable to use. Then I came upon the Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Stainless 10-piece cookware set. I was very impressed by the quality. They were heavy grade yet easy to handle. They also met my other specifications listed above AND they looked really nice as well. The price of $149 was quite unbelievable. I drove home and ran straight to my computer and ordered the set through Amazon. I got free shipping and had the set delivered directly to my daughter. I also used the holiday bonus coupon for $25 off my order. I was so impressed with the set and the deal Amazon was offering, a few days later I purchased a second set through Amazon for myself. I LOVE them. They cook beautifully on my gas range and clean up well in the dishwasher. The handles DO NOT get hot while cooking, which totally surprised me. Do be careful with the lid handles though. They will get hot if cooking on higher heat. I haven’t had a problem with delicate foods burning due to the high thermoconductivity of the pans; however, my stove is a professional grade 6-burner unit. I don’t know if that makes any difference or not. All I can say is this set looks great, cooks great, handles great, and sells at a great price. What more can you ask for?
I love this set. It has the most useful assortment at a great price. I gave up my heavy aluminum Teflon coated set for this one. I tried an aluminum core SS frying pan, but the amount of aluminum in the core is not enough to spread the heat and eliminate hot spots. This set has a heavy aluminum core bottom that does the job nicely. I did have to learn how to cook differently with the SS surface instead of the Teflon surface. However it was worth it, because the Teflon frying pan was causing some health issues even when being very careful not to get the pan too hot. They vanished immediately when I started using this frying pan instead.
For the price this set deserves the 5 stars I have given it. I’ve been using it for about a month now and really like it. What led me to search for stainless cookware was my research on the potential health risks of teflon or non-stick cookware. I find myself wanting to cook more since the cookware is so nice to use. The only short-coming I can see with this set is that it does not have a large skillet but this could be purchased in addition to the set and you would still have gotten a super deal! I happened to have a 14 inch stainless steel skillet already. If you are looking for an econmical way to switch to stainless steal I highly recommend this set!
I never thought I could love a set of pots and pans, but I love these! I got them after reading so many positive reviews (thank you to all who take the time to write in), and I haven’t been disappointed. The handles DO stay cool, though I can’t imagine how. They make cooking more fun. The results of even heat make the food taste better, and the value for the price is amazing.
Mine do have some spots on them, and I don’t care or work very hard to make them shiny-new.
I did want to report that one of the pans I received was defective (rattling in the base). Amazon was very prompt in sending me a new one (whole new set, actually) 2nd day air and paying for the return shipping of the old one. Their customer service far exceeded my expectations
